Terms of Service
Last updated: October 12, 2026
These terms are the rules for using Rainbow Splicer ("the game", "we") at https://rainbowsplicer.com. By signing in or playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
1. The game
Rainbow Splicer is a small hobby game. You scan barcodes to hatch creatures called Chromies, then train, battle and breed them. It is provided free of charge and "as is". We may change, pause or end any part of the game, including its rules, balance, items and prizes, at any time. The game may be unavailable from time to time.
2. Your account
- You sign in with a Google account. Signing in for the first time creates your player and ranch. Some older accounts use a password instead.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. Do not share it, and do not use anyone else's.
- One person should use one account. Please do not create extra accounts to gain an advantage in battles, rankings or tournaments.
3. Playing fairly
Please do not:
- cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts or other automation to play for you or to scan in bulk;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorized access to the game, its server, or other players' accounts;
- give your Chromies or your ranch a name that is offensive, hateful, harassing, or that reveals someone's private information (the game filters some names, but not all);
- harass other players, or use the game for anything unlawful.
If you find a bug that gives an unfair advantage, please report it instead of using it. There are hefty in-game rewards for reporting bugs!
4. Coins, Chroma-shards, Chromies and other virtual items
- Coins, Chroma-shards, Chromies, dyes, hats, wings, prizes, rankings and flags are virtual. They have no real-world value, are not money, cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game, and cannot be sold or traded outside the game.
- At the moment nothing in the game costs real money. If that ever changes, these terms will be updated first.
- We may adjust, correct or remove virtual items, balances and results, for example to fix a bug, to undo cheating, or if an account breaks these terms.
- Chromies age and eventually retire as part of the game. A Chromie you release cannot be recovered.
- We back up the game regularly, but we cannot promise that your progress will never be lost.
5. What you put into the game
The names you give your ranch and your Chromies are shown to other players. You keep any rights you have in them, and you give us permission to display them in the game. We may rename or remove a name that breaks section 3.
6. Our content
The game's artwork, pixel sprites, design, text and code belong to us or to the people who license them to us. You may play the game, but you may not copy it or sell it. The barcode numbers you scan are just numbers. Product names and barcodes belong to their owners, and the game is not connected to, or endorsed by, any product or brand.
7. Your privacy
How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
8. Ending your account
You can stop playing at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account (see the contact details below). We may suspend or end an account, or the whole game, if the account breaks these terms or to protect the game and its players. When an account ends, its Chromies, items and balances are lost.
9. No warranty
We try to keep the game running well, but we do not promise that it will be available, error-free or secure, that barcode scanning will always work on your device, or that your progress will be kept. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties, whether express or implied.
10. Limit of our responsibility
The game is free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any indirect, incidental or lost-progress damages arising from your use of the game, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you have paid us, which is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new terms.
12. Contact
